Northern 4WD & Rafting Adventure
If you've ever wanted a taste of an Indiana Jones quest, here's your opportunity: a six day adventure that takes you by 4WD, elephant and raft through some of North Thailand's most ruggedly spectacular mountain scenery close to the Burmese border. Explore mysterious caves, picnic by tumbling waterfalls, descend rushing rivers by inflatable raft, watch elephants at work and trek in the forest.

| Travel by 4WD to an elephant camp at Mae Sa. Watch the elephants moving timber in the forest. A visit to an orchid farm follows. After lunch, visit a Hmong hilltribe village. Hmong dances and songs follow a BBQ dinner. (Lunch, Dinner) |

| Travelling on rarely used dirt roads through countless mountains with scenic views, you arrive at Chan Temple. After lunch, proceed to Pai, taking you to high vistas of forests above a patchwork of villages, fields and farms. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) |

| White water rafting highlights your third day. Rafting on the Nam Khong River leads you to your first reward - a picnic lunch beside the river. Two more hours of rafting after lunch. Soon you arrive at the jungle encampment where the rest of your afternoon can be spent at leisure or exploring the area. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) |

| After breakfast the excitement really begins. On the way to and then passing through the Pai Gorges, you go through about 25 rapids, from 50 to 300 metres long, grade 2-3, and visit some hot springs. Then you've earned your lunch basket by a small waterfall. After finishing the rafting trip you will transfer by Land Rover to Mae Hong Son. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) |

| Your mode of transportation is elephant-back as you move through the forest towards the Pai River. A motorized long - tail boat then brings you upriver on a scenic journey until you transfer to a 4WD taking you to Pha Sua Waterfall. In the afternoon you visit Baan Naisoi, home of the long - necked Padong women. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) |

| The adventure continues with an uphill drive to phra Dhat Doi Kong Moo Temple, from where you can enjoy a stunning view over Mae Hong Son. You'll visit the Burmese style holy shrines, Jong Kham and Jong Klang temples. Jong Klang temple houses 100-year-old glass paintings and woodcarvings from Myanmar. Your 5 hour drive back to Chiang Mai includes lunch at a restaurant en route. (Breakfast, Lunch) |
